Biography

I’m an Assistant Professor in the Methodology and Statistics department at Utrecht University. I develop statistical methods so that applied researchers can estimate more realistic models using all the data they have available.

In 2023, I was awarded an NWO VENI grant for my project “Making sense of the world: Modeling social and behavioral phenomena more accurately using Bayesian regularized structural equation modeling”. In this project, I will develop Bayesian regularized structural equation models and user-friendly software to make these models accessible to applied researchers.

Previously, I was a PhD-student at Tilburg University. My project “Advancing structural equation modeling with unbiased Bayesian methods” was supported by an NWO Research Talent grant. I was awarded my PhD Cum Laude in 2020 based on my PhD thesis "Bayesian Structural Equation Modeling: The Power of the Prior".
